Products I Love: Baby It's Cold Outside

Burrrrr. Yes it is 65 degrees and this Florida Girl is cold. And when there is cold weather, my dry skin is sure to follow.

Don't get me wrong, I actually love the cold. Maybe it is because where I live cold weather is always short lived and is more of a novelty than a constant.I am sure if I had to shovel snow every morning I would feel differently.

I live off of the humidity here. So if you are like me, my skin drastically gets dry the moment there is a chill in the air. I automatically get very itchy and my hands start to hurt. Luckily I have some skin care favorites that never fair to help me out and keep my skin silky smooth and soft.

Coconut Oil. I am sure you have seen it all over Pinterest of its benefits. This stuff isn't just great for extracting and everyday cooking. You can use it all over. It is a great mask to put in your hair after you shampoo to moisturize your hair and scalp. I also love to take a nice warm bath with a large spoonful of coconut oil in it or after I have showered rub it all over before I hop into bed. My skin just soaks it up, not to mention I smell like a Tropical Breeze. Maybe you will even have a nice dream of your feet in the sand and a drink in your hand. Who knows?

Now for my next product, I mention it only because it works for me, not because I am a consultant. So hear me out.

Mary Kay. Here are the products that I love and can't live without.

Satin Lips. I use the balm in the morning before my make-up and at night before bed. It completely moisturizes my lips without leaving and feeling of a balm. Your lips literally soak it in.

TimeWise Moisturizer. My face craves this stuff. It is so cooling and soft when you put it on, minutes later it is soaked into your skin so you don't feel like you have a wet face. Great thing is it lasts all day.

TimeWise Targeted Action Body Lotion. Formulated to fortify the skin's support structure, helping to firm, tone and tighten, while keeping skin hydrated for 24 hours. I took that straight from the product description because it does everything it says it does. It has a really light scent to so I still can wear my favorite perfume and I don't have to worry about the smells clashing.

I know this article is about your skin, but I had to add something unrelated. I say this because cold weather always brings the sniffles. So here is an extra bonus.

Hot Toddy. Inevitably someone gets sick in the colder months. This drinks not only warms you from the inside out, it has some major benefits that help that nasty cold. Here is my recipe.

2 oz Whisky
2 Teaspoons Honey
1/2 to 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Brown Sugar
1 clove
A drop or two of Lemon Oil, or a rind peel twisted to release the oils
Boiling Water

Add whisky, honey, cinnamon, brown sugar, clove, and lemon oil to a mug. Poor Boiling water over ingredients. Sip, and then lay down for a nice nap.
