Book Club: Desperate by Sarah Mae & Sally Clarkson

Let's mix things up a little bit and interact a lot more. Let's do a Book Club! Each Month or so I will pick a book related to mommy life and we will read it together week to week. Each Monday on my Twitter page, @MommyLandNates, from 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. eastern standard time we will discuss what we read the previous week. Sound like fun? I think so!

I have decided to start of with a book that has more of a study feel mainly because the questions for each chapter are already done for me ;) However, it was actually recommended to me by my Nurse Practitioner who has been helping me with my PPD. It grabbed me automatically by how honest and relatable to women are in their book. I finally felt like someone out there understood me and was able to put it all out in every detail on paper.
Desperate is for those who love their children to the depths of their souls but who have also curled up under their covers, fighting back tears, and begging God for help. It’s for those who have ever wondered what happened to all their ideals for what having children would be like. For those who have ever felt like all the “experts” have clearly never had a child like theirs. For those who have prayed for a mentor. For those who ever felt lost and alone in motherhood.

In Desperate you will find the story of one young mother’s honest account of the desperate feelings experienced in motherhood and one experienced mentor’s realistic and gentle exhortations that were forged in the trenches of raising her own four children.

So let's get started! Our first book club discussion will be on February 2, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. We will be discussing CHapter 1: Ideals and Going Under. I can't wait!
