My Car's Kids Emergency Kit

Spring and Summer are fast approaching.Which means lots of playdates at the park, trips to the beach, and family road trips. This also means those unexpected bumps, bruises, headaches, spills, etc. So, to try to stay ahead of the game I keep two bins in my car for those unforeseen emergencies.

My bins are both 15 Qt. bins. I have a minivan with the stow and go feature, so I store them in there. They don't take up a lot of room so even if you don't have a car like mine they won't be in the way.

My first bin is extra clothes. I cannot tell you how many times I have been out and about and I have had someone spill a drink all over them or the dreaded potty accident. So I keep a spare set for each of my kids...even my 8 year old. Don't forget the underwear, diaper, and socks too! The last thing I put in there, plastic bags. I make sure there is one for each kid. This gives you a place to put the messy clothes.

My second bin has everything, plus the kitchen sink. You can of course customize this to your needs, but here is what I have in mine.

  • Baby Wipes
  • One diaper for each kid
  • Waterproof Bandages
  • Benadryl Cooling Gel
  • Baby Powder (This is great for getting stubborn sand off of dry skin.)
  • Lotion
  • Baby Wash
  • Tissues
  • Cotton Swabs
  • Hydrogen Peroxide
  • Cotton Pads
  • Kleenex Wipes
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Tums
  • Neosporin Spray
  • Visine
  • Airborne
  • Blistex
  • Tide Pen
  • Aleve
I have travel sizes of most of the items. It was super easy. I just went to the travel size section at Target and loaded up on almost everything.

There! Now I am all set for all the outside fun :)
